Is there any advice anyone has for how to proceed from a point like this as a stabber? I've done a 15-rune victory before as a DEFE, but that was back in like. I am also thinking that I possibly did a bad thing trying to tackle Depths when I did, but I wasn't feeling up to Hell, the Abyss, Crypt, or Vaults:5. Once I was casting it with <10% failure, most things I was worried about taking head-on saw or sensed invisible. My first thoughts are that I got invisibility online too late. which sometimes meant I had to quaff my "oh shit" potions (Might, Agility) to win or use something else to escape (wands/scrolls of teleportation, healing potions, etc.). I was having issues with enemies being immune to poison (no curare), seeing invisible, and having enough HD that they'd wake up even if I used Dith's blink step as soon as they were in LoS. I wound up dying in the depths after I ran out of escape moves. Seemed like a recipe to get Drained to oblivion. I wasn't sure if that was right, but my rN was pretty limited, and my freezing quick blade artifact seemed ill-suited to killing things in Crypt. That stuff carried me through getting both Lair runes, and then I got through Vaults:4 before heading back to try and score some more XP in the Depths. Shored it up later with a quick blade that seemed to do work on enemies without much AC.
OK, so I finally got a good run going on a Halfling Assassin - got some early flying boots and a both a solid randart cutlass and the unrandart arc blade quite early.
